Lumpy neck

Posted on October 15, 2019

I started feeling little lumps around my neck. If you feel your “normal” neck right now, you’ll probably feel all kinds of little bumps, veins, gribbly bits. So at first, I didn’t think much of it. But after a few weeks, I noticed that one of the bumps was turning into a lump. A lump is a lot harder to ignore. So I made an appointment to see my Primary Care Physician.

By the time I was able to finally get the appointment, I noticed I was losing a bit of weight and my stomach had started bothering me. Probably my recent change in meds?

They weighed me at check-in. Apparently, I had lost over 20lbs in the last couple of months. I’m a pretty fit guy, so where did that even come from!?

After examining me he said that I should immediately make an appointment with an ENT doctor to have the lump checked. And said, “Don’t start googling stuff, just make the appointment.”

My partner, Josephine, was there with me and I remember glancing at her and thinking, “This couldn’t be cancer… Right?”
