So, apparently, I have cancer.
On Thursday, November 7th, 2019 I was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Medullary Thyroid Cancer. As my doctor said, “This is a very interesting case, and this is a time when being interesting is not a good thing”.
For my sanity, this blog is a one-way flow of information (comments are disabled). This isn’t Facebook. (Side note: I’ve heard Facebook is the leading cause of cancer) ;P
However – feel free to share this blog on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Friendster and ICQ. I won’t respond to comments, but at least more people will have a chance to follow what’s happening. And it may be helpful for people who don’t know me but are going through a similar struggle.
I understand for some it may be difficult to read about my journey without having the opportunity to give advice, opinions, loving comments, etc. I ask casual onlookers to follow along AND allow space for me to heal.
My close friends and family know how to contact me. And are always welcome.
How can I help?
A question I’ve been getting asked a lot, and appreciate so very much!
Please consider sharing my GoFundMe Page. Thank you to my amazing sister-in-law, Jackie, for setting it up.
OR –> You can gift money directly via Paypal: firstname.lastname@example.org
OR –> Purchase my artwork. I have some originals available, as well as prints in a variety of sizes. I like the idea of being able to offer you something tangible for your support. I receive about 50% of the total price when you order prints.
I have a difficult time asking for help, but the reality is that I’ve already had to cancel performances and the medical bills have begun to pile up. Because my cancer is unique, and aggressive, it has been difficult to get the care I need covered by insurance. Bottom line: Cancer isn’t as fun I thought it would be.
Healing vibes are always appreciated. ❤
